DIVE RESERVATIONS

Dear Divers,

Due to the current budget problems in California, beginning September 1, 2009, the fees for diving and launching watercraft at Point Lobos will increase.

Divers can make reservations in advance, as always. The Dive Fee will increase to $10 per person, two people per team. For divers arriving during the week without reservations, the fee will still be $10 per person along with the vehicle entry fee payable upon entry to the reserve.

Beginning September 1, there will be a $5 per boat launch fee for all vessels, including kayaks. These use fees are in addition to the $10 per car entry fee and will be collected along with your entrance fee upon arrival at the Reserve.

As you know, the monies collected for these use fees stay at Point Lobos in a special account that will be used for the seasonal lifeguard program, web site, and interpretive programs.

SCUBA and Free diving reservations can be made as much as two months in advance to the date. A reservation is for a team of two divers. You can make your reservation through this web site, or call our dive reservation coordinator at 831-624-8413 between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. She is not in the office on Wednesdays or weekends.

You can make two reservations with each submission. You can make two reservations in your own name for two different days.

If you want two reservations for the same day, each reservation must be under the name of a different person and that person must be here on that day.

Reservations are not transferable and non-refundable. If the person named on the reservation is not here on the dive date, the reservation will not be transferred.

We will process your request and email your confirmation. There is a $10.00 per person non-refundable reservation fee per team. Please notify the Dive Coordinator if you will be making payment by check. You can mail a personal check for payment to:

Point Lobos State Reserve, Route 1 Box 62, Carmel, CA 93923. Attention: Dive Reservations: Include on the check in the memo section, the confirmation number.

Reservations MUST be paid for even if you later find you are unable to make the dive. Your reservation fee pays for the operation of the system. It is unfair to other divers when you make a reservation and fail to pay, or fail to show, because it precludes others from making reservations.

You should receive a confirmation number within one to five working days. If you do not receive a confirmation number you DO NOT have a reservation.

The team leader's name is all we need. On the day of the dive both the team leader and the partner will be checked in. We require the two people on the team to dive together.
