Kites and Kestrels

As you approach the Reserve from the north watch the Hudson Meadows closely.  The White-tailed kites and American ketrels are back!  The low lying pine trees are the staging areas for these magnificent birds looking for lunch.

Gophers and field mice a plenty provide an excellent meal for these raptors.  Both birds will kite or hover above the fields and then swoop down to capture their meals.  Perching on the tops of trees or even the power lines or telephone poles, along the side of the highway you can watch them devour their tasty catch.

Crazy how you good have become at writing over the past few weeks. You can now write a research paper fast as possible and a few weeks ago that wasn't even a thought on anybody's mind.
